Maybe it’s just me, but when I look at a face sometimes all I see is brow. Unless you are Brooke Shields, Frieda Kahlo, Audrey Hepburn, or any one of the more contemporary stars today who like to be identified by their fuzzy face-caterpillars, a big, bushy eyebrow may not be for you. I know it is the trend these days to have a thick brow. I know it is the trend these days to have a dark brow. But as we have seen with clothing styles, just because something is fab on the runway does not mean it will look fab on you. Same with eyebrows. As clothing depends on your body shape, eyebrows depend on face structure. While some faces need a heavy eyebrow to balance out larger features or larger head size, others may need a thinner, more subtle eyebrow as to not overpower the softer features or a smaller frame.
Thin? Did you say thin? But I don’t want thin brows!
Alas, I hear this a lot. Unfortunately, there are some folks who think that NOT having a thick brow means having pencil-thin brows or virtually none at all. This is simply not the case. There are plenty of beautifully groomed, natural, medium-sized brows out there. Of course if you want pencil-thin brows, go for it – some folks like that – but like with overly thick brows, one can have overly-quaffed and arched brows making you look constantly surprised or a little fake. So what is a girl to do? Well, what you should NOT do is self-shape – go see an expert (fully trained, licensed esthetician) who will analyze your needs, face shape and with that information and expertise, will give you the brow that best suits you.
When in doubt, DON’T pull them out!
